Two parties in one week? Wooo - hooo! The ladies at 5 Minutes for Mom are throwing "The Ultimate Blog Party" and like I wrote earlier I'm not one to miss a good party or miss throwing one. To honor the rules set by 5 Minutes for Mom I'll include some information about my blog and then to the fun stuff. Since I threw myself a bawling bash earlier this week today's party will be of the praise variety.
History of Becoming Me (It's a short trip)
Birthed in February of this year, Becoming Me is the baby on the block. I prayed about starting a writing ministry for several months, conducted some research, and was inspired by many amazing bloggers like Antique Mommy, Bea from Bub and Pie, and Elisa at Extravagant Grace. I spent weeks searching for the appropriate blog name and nothing seemed to fit. Then one night, after I had already been sleeping for a few hours I awoke with to words etched on my foggy little brain "Becoming Me."
Although I invited Jesus to make my heart his home about thirty-years-ago, only close to 365 days ago did I embark on the journey of discovering who I really am in Christ. I'm a relational gal, which means I cannot learn something good without sharing it and all I learn about Christ is good. The lord has given me a talent for writing (although some posts are better written than others) and many experiences for fodder.
About The Author and her Family
My name is Angela. I am the wife of a college professor and the mother of two precious children. My four-year-old strong-willed daughter brings me much joy and also challenges my sanity. My 10-month-old little boy is the spitting image of his daddy and also inherited his pliable personality. My husband and I have been married for more than eight years. In that time he has commenced grad school, earned his Ph.D. seven years later, and secured employment as an assistant professor of political science. During the past eight years we have moved eight times, lived in six different cities and in four different states. Those adventures, some of them misadventures also provide writing material. Before raising a family and maintaining a home became my profession I earned my accreditation in PR and worked with several companies.
My Favorite Prizes
Many fabulous prizes are being given away at the blog party this year. I'd be happy to win anything (but I never win prizes anymore...my prize-winningness - so not a real word- left me after we moved to SC) but if I had to choose, my tops picks would be:
1) Prize #54 Milkarose gift cerfitificate
2) Prize #11 Good for the Kids gift certificate
3) Prize #14 Custom Kid Wall Canvas
I also like prizes 19, 132, 137, 87, 85,78,129, 110, 119, 8,28 & 48 or any prize to pamper a mommy or spoil a toddler or preschooler.
My Dreams for Becoming Me
Becoming Me is one of my ministries. I pray about everything I write before my fingers dance on the keyboard. My main desire is to take my experiences whether they are painful, happy or ordinary and cultivate them into stories that will touch the hearts of others for the solitary reason of bringing glory to the King of Kings. I'm also praying about submitting articles to other blogs. Of course I'd love to have many people read my site on a weekly basis....but whether I positively influence one soul or a thousand makes no difference to me. Honest. As long as I follow the Lord's direction I am confident that He will determine this blog's appropriate destination.
While you're here...
You can feel free to read past posts and information on the "characters." I would love for you to share this blog with others. The writing is copyrighted, but you may link this blog to your blog roll and/or include the lovely button (made by Elisa) on the right on your site. If you have time to do so, please post a comment on one of the posts you like best so that I can see who you are and visit your blog.
Now to the Praise Party
Below are a few of my favorite praise scriptures. Don't we serve an amazing God? If there is a verse on your heart, please add it to the comment section and keep this party goin'.
- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6
- You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. - Acts 14:15
- Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty. Isaiah 6:3
- The Son is the radiance of God's glory. Hebrews 1:3
- Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who is like you--majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? You stretched out your right hand and the earth swallowed them. In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. Exodus 15: 11-13
