Spring Makeovers

I don’t know about you, but there is something about the spring air that ignites that proverbial bounce in my step. Spring cleaning, fitness goals, and outdoor excursions edge their way into my schedule. Strawberry picking, an arts festival, Afternoon Tea with Pumpkindoodle, and Pickle’s first birthday party will mark seasonal events.

An internal makeover of sorts tops my list of must dos. My heart weighs heavy with bitterness as we face yet another eminent move as early as May and as late as October (An upcoming post that will first appear at the Five Minutes for Mom Sampler sometime this month will explain the turn of events). God’s word clearly states how He feels about bitterness and to completely serve my Father, better my life, and bless others, ugly feelings must be mopped up with the dust bunnies. I’m sure I’ll weave stories of spiritual restorations into this blog.

Saving the obvious for last, my blog wears a fresh new look courtesy of the fabulously talented “Mommy” from the fun blog I’ve Changed my Name to Mommy. The side bar needs some mild tweaking, but other than that, this is the new look. I hope you like it because I love it. I think it shows facets of my personality and heart. Working with the creative and kindhearted “Mommy” was fun and easy. Please check her out.

With the exception of this post, my writing style for Becoming Me will remain consistent with past stories. I’ll continue to write posts about experiences that have impacted my life and about extraordinary lessons God teaches from ordinary circumstances. I will try to post at least twice a week, perhaps more. If you enjoy Becoming Me, it may be the type of blog you subscribe to with either the link below or with Bloglines or your favorite feed reader. I mention that only because I don’t post on a regular basis and that may frustrate some and relieve others. However, if you are interested in posts from my every day life feel free to let me know in the comment box and I’ll send you an invitation to read my family blog.

Thank you for reading Becoming Me. Please know that I pray about each of my posts and for all of my readers. It is my hearts desire that this blog honors God and draws me closer to Him while uplifting the spirits of others.

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. -- Psalm 24: 4-5.

We did some spring cleaning about 3 weeks ago when there was a snow storm, and we were stuck in the house. I mean, technically it WAS spring (well, almost). ha ha ha.

And I love the layout! I wasn't here for the old one, but the new one is classy and beautiful!

Spring definitely brings this feeling of new-ness and freshness. Not only with our physical homes, but with our hearts. I always feel I can breathe easier when spring rolls around!

Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. Sometimes admitting we don't have the right words to say is all someone needs to hear to know you care! Thank you!!!

Love your new look! And on spring cleaning...I am a terrible housekeeper and spring cleaning would has not exactly topped my to-do list and now I see the repercussions of my neglect! What a visual as I consider the necessity of a clean heart and the repercussions of my neglect of confession and repentance--the hard things of purity. Bitterness easily takes root, this I know. May we instead trust the goodness of our God who does all things well in His time.
