This Post's For You

Six months after launching Becoming Me I have reached that bloggy milestone of post 100.

I've been wanting to do something special and different for this post...the "100 things about me" posts are fun to read on the blogs of others but a post of that nature just wouldn't belong here.

I wish I had 100 prizes to give away, but frankly, I'm still working on getting my prizes from the Blog Mission Tour delivered (note to self and future blog tour planners ---holding a tour with prizes two weeks before moving to another state is bad timing).

As I spent the week pondering what to do, I thought about all of you who read this blog. I've known some of you for years and many of you I have just gotten to know throughout these past six months. And there are many more of you whom I do not know at all.

Regardless of our relationship with each other, I am grateful that you visit Becoming Me.

In the spirit of friendship and Christian community, I'd love to know you better...so I'm asking...
would you please leave me a comment today? Just tell me who you are and one thing about you. Perhaps your favorite scripture verse, or a prayer request, or a victory you've recently experienced? You can also ask me a question and I'll answer it in the comments section. I promise that in one way or another, I will personally respond to every comment I receive.

Since it is my 100th post, I think 100 comments would be groovy...(Don't we all have an inner Marsha Brady?)

Again, thank you for being you.

And last but certainly not least, I want to share a scripture that has been on my heart. As I wrote in the post before this one, some old memories had been unearthed and at one point of the week I was feeling down. During a time of prayer and tears, God led me to this marvelous verse and a wave of love washed over me. I felt as though I was sitting face to face with my Father who was giving me a pep talk of sorts...like the ones The Professor gives to Pumpkindoodle.

These words from Psalm 45:10 were written thousands of years ago, but on Monday night of this week, it felt like the were written just for me.

"Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear: Forget your people and your father's house. The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord." Psalm 45:10-11, NIV, emphasis mine.

I am excited to be the first to launch your 100th comments :)

Something about me...hum...I love digital photography. It has opened my eyes to observing the details and smallest beauty of this world. I love being able to capture moments in this life.

Congrats on your 100th post!

Congratulations on 100 posts!! Thank you for being so real with your ups and downs. I love watching you find Him in your struggles.
Something about me? This is my most recent news (not even on my blog yet)... I just got approved for a loan and I plan to buy a condo next month! I'm very excited and quite terrified all at the same time.

Congrats on your 100th post!
I found your blog just before your mission tour. I joined in and have learned so so so much since then. Thanks for the tour.

About me, I am 57 days away from my 50th birthday. Instead of becoming depressed about how fast the years have gone I have taken another journey ~ to see how many new things I can accomplish before the big day! This has been so much fun!

I hope you get your 100 comments!

Happy 100th Post!

I am a 45YO married mother of 3 (22YO, 17YO and 7YO), grandmother of 1 (Almost 1).

I live in a small town in Nevada with my hubby, the two younger children, 2 cats (Herman & Lily) and 2 dogs (Chloe and Fiona). Chloe is a Puggle - pug/beagle and Fiona is a free grocery store dog. We think she is Yellow Lab and Pony. LOL

We are very involved in our church and I help out at the 7YO's school. I am also at the local gym five days a week taking Cardio/Weight lifting and Yoga.

I also stay busy with my latest passion - scrapbooking.

My favorite answered prayer:

the day after coming home from the hospital with my first son, Jacob, he had the hiccups -all day and even into the night. Every time he would fall asleep his hiccups would wake him up again, crying. I tried rocking him, burping him, nursing him, etc. but nothing helped. I was getting more and more sore each time I got up from my cesarean incision, and I was getting to the brink of sanity. I finally laid down, put him in his bassinette next to me, crying, and I put my hand on his little foot and prayed, "Lord, I am sore and I am tired, and I know this baby needs his sleep. Could you please stop his hiccups for a little while so that we can both sleep?" As I whispered the last word, he hiccuped his last for the night and we both got some sleep.

Very simple, but very true and a very personal example that God cares about our needs, no matter how small.

Congratulations on 100 posts!

I enjoy reading and glean from your writing style. I hope your transition through the move has been smooth.

One thing about me--I'm in a transition spiritually. I love the Lord with all my heart, soul and mind (or I strive for it) and I feel He's requiring more obedience in my walk with HIM. Because I love HIM, I want to obey HIM. The flesh fights so hard, but I lean and rely on HIS word which is powerful. I have to make my choices intentional each minute of the day. I have be more alert and cognizant. I didnt realize how often I go about my day "unconscious."

What a blessing you have been through this blog and the other places you contribute your words.

Engrafted by HIS Grace-

Wooo Hooo! The thing is, I can't think of one of your posts which I could point to as being fluff or junk, either (as I could in my blog). Each word I read is such a gem, Angela. Thank you for Becoming Me.

A fact about me? People and process mean more to me than products--a fact which has often left my husband frustrated with a messy house. :) Boundaries are hard.

Also? Nothing beats the marriage of coffee and chocolate and a good book.

About me: Well, let's see. Lots of people know me as LauraLee the writer, but what a lot of people don't know is that I have been leading kids' worship and directing drama groups for about 20 years. Huge passion. Also, I homeschool my kids part-time, and they go to school part-time. Huge job that only God could do in this inadequate soul. So that's the scoopie on me, Groovy?

Congrats on 100 posts! I'm going to hit that mark real soon myself.

One of my favorite scriptures that I have been pondering recently is...
Zephaniah 3:17
The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

I find it so amazing that He takes great delight in me and He rejoices over me with singing.

I look forward to reading your next 100 posts!

Conratulations on your 100th post!

My favorite scripture?... Jeremiah 29:11. Or Philippians 4:13. Or maybe Ecclesiastes 4:9. Too hard to pick!

One hundred posts? Totally groovy!

My favorite verse? For TODAY...(subject to change tomorrow!)...Lam. 3:22-25... The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion,"says my soul, "threfore I will hope in him." the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

Happy 100! Here's to the next 100 and beyond!

Happy 100th Blog-day! What a thoughtful way to celebrate. :-)

I love the Scripture that you shared (Psalm 45:10-11). Our God is so big and, yet, so personal.

It is so difficult to choose my favorite Scripture, so I will share the one upon which I've most recently been meditating:

"I say to myself, 'The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.' The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD." (Lamentations 3:24-25)

Rev. Peter Doodes said...

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal. It was flowing from the throne of God and the lamb. Between the city street and the river, the tree of life was visible from each side. It produced twelve kinds of fruit, each month having its own fruit. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Rev 22:1-2

As we may not meet before then, I look forward to us all meeting up on that day and dipping our feet into that living water.

God bless

What a sweet, sweet post for your 100th. That milestone is quite an accomplishment in the life of a blogger, and if you've kept with it this long, I think you'll keep going :).

Gosh...something about me? A verse that speaks to my heart always is Romans 8:28, cause I really do see all things working for my good and His glory...eventually.

Another thing? I love seeing wonder in life, in the small things and the large...the roar of the ocean or the buzz of a bee's wings :).

And I like to write poetry.

And I had my babies five minutes ago but they're teens and a tween now...

Congratulations on 100 posts! I read your blog daily. I have known you for over 10 years! I have hurt for you, rejoiced with you and been awed by your faith in God.
I have 2 short and simple verses that have gotten me through good and bad days.
Be strong and brave for God is with you Joshua 1:9
This is the day that the Lord has made be glad and rejoice in it.
Those were tough after my miscarriages but I kept saying them and each day I did get stronger and did learn to rejoice again.

Something about me: I am a mom to 2 girls who are the light of my life. I try very hard to instill a deep love for God in their hearts.

Something about me. Hmmmm...I love my life. I have a great sense each day that God has chosen me for today and what is in store, so I feel blessed, often with a sense of awwww over him hand picking me for the moment I am in, the life I am in, and the those around me whom I share it with. It does not mean that my emotions, situations, and lack of understand can cloud all that, but to wake up each day and fundamentally know that God is all about me, is just plain and simply cool!!

Congratulations Becoming Me on #100! I'm glad you did not try the 100 Giveaway or 100 things about me. But I do want to help you make 100 comments! I have many favorite scriptures from Isaiah and Psalms to John and 2 Timothy...etc. but right now I am focusing on Psalm 46, from beginning to end. My first focus was just verse 10...but when I went to see the context I decided I needed to learn and focus on ALL
of Psalm 46. I, too, in a wave of sobbing and crying out to God after a long month of weariness and fatigue with no apparent reason, culminating just this past week with a spiritual attack from the enemy on line...I was led to these words as if they were once more meant for me like you said for yours spoken today just for me: "God is (my) our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day..."Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress." really the whole Psalm.
I need prayer to recover from this attack because it set a whole lot into motion and it was against my mission, my marriage, even my name in my email, my group, my blog...
right up to accusing me of slapping the face of Jesus...since I realized who the accuser is...that helps but it did not take back the devastation that rocked me. My mission here in Mexico is my life mission and goal! I need to regain my strength and detox my mind. But God is my very only present help in trouble. No one is here in Mexico that can help me...but HE never fails to be my ALL in all, He is so faithful how HE SAVES US daily from the pains, struggles and attacks of this world. I have a dear blog friend that is praying me through this and perhaps others who sensed my true need...but I came to visit you from someone else's blog and read your current post until here and strongly felt it was OK to share with you! By the way, if you want 100 comments...I can come back more times...(lol)! I enjoy your honesty and how you are getting your priorities back in line. We all have to when we allow anything.
:blogging", tv, etc. take the place of God first, family next, then others...but God wants us to take time for ourselves also...not selfishly or before the rest. So take care of YOU, too! Or you may end up like me...not ready for a
spiritual battle or attack!God's blessings and favor increase for U
