“Mommy, do you know when I’m never going to love you?”
(Translation for those of you who may not speak Childrenese: Do you know when I’m going to stop loving you?)
I smiled and looked down into her large, acorn-shaped eyes, “When?”
With an affirming giggle she replied, “NEVER! I’m just going to love you, and love you, and love you forever!”
Oh how those simple words rejuvenated my heart. After swooping her up into my arms for a shower of kisses, I thought about the eternal love God has for me…for all of His children. The hours He has spent loving me far out number the hours I’ve lived on this earth.
In my life time, He has destroyed walls that jailed me, unlocked the shackles that immobilized me, and loosened the blindfold that concealed light from my eyes.
He has given me armor to shield me from my enemies and hope to restrain my doubt. Every offense I have ever committed has been blanketed with His forgiveness.
I am often ungrateful, yet still He loves me. I have nothing to offer Him that is not already His, yet still, He loves me. I am unworthy, yet still, He loves me.
And do you know when He’s “never going to love me?” Never. He's going to love me, and love, and love me forever!
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! I love that picture of her. I love how our children remind us of God's love.
This was a beautiful, touching post.
Amen! And, isn't that a glorious Truth?! :-)

Children are so sweet. What precious story and comparison with our Jesus.
This is such a sweet post that I hate to mar it by telling you that I'm here from Life in the Parsonage to encourage you to try to do the "I See What You're Saying" video post on the 30th. I've seen your blog title around and now that I've been here, I'd really like to "meet" you. (I'm the one who's doing the carnival.)
"In my life time, He has destroyed walls that jailed me, unlocked the shackles that immobilized me, and loosened the blindfold that concealed light from my eyes."
WOW - that is my testimony too! I wrote a post awhile back entitled, "Prison Break" and an article back in February entitled, "Becoming Joy".
Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm going to enjoy spending time here and 'meeting you'.
Knowing I am "Forever Loved",
Joy
Oh, your heart must have been so touched when your daughter said that to you out of the blue. So heartwarming! The picture is so cute, too.
What an awesome post and an awesome photo. Thanks for sharing such an important reminder.
May we never over look the many life lessons we can learn, especially through our little ones. Great story!
Beautiful. Children have such a way of reminding us of truths about God. I love it.
Angela, Thanks for the reminder that God always loves us. I am overwhelmed when I think of how much. Though I may fail Him today or struggle with things in this life, He loves me. What a wonderful reminder. Blessings.
That is so sweet!

I, too, had to requote those words, Angela. How sweetly God blessed you just when you needed it. There are inumerable ways that He amazes me, but one of the most is how he anticipates a need before we're even aware of it.
Beautiful (as always) my friend.
Hi - stopped by to check out your blog (finally!) after you left a comment on mine.
Very well written and inspiring posts! I love how you take every day moments to reflect on our humanness and/or God's attributes.
May He continue to bless the work of your hands (all of it!) and use you as an inspiration to your family and the world.
I love the way our relationship with our children reminds us of our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Thanks for the reminder that we are loved far beyond our mortal imagination.
Don't you love those moments? That is so sweet, Angela.
I am so thankful for our loving heavenly Father!
and for the sweet words that come out of children's mouths!
thanks for sharing.
amen!!
Angela,
What a great reminder. I wish I could shower your precious little one with hugs and kisses too.
Out of the mouths of babes.

What a BEAUTIFUL post!!!!
God is SO SO Good to us:)
I love the way God uses childred to touch us and remind us what is important. How special!
after spending some time w/her, I can totally see her saying that - like I said, I believe she has the gift of encouragement - how sweet.
Being a mom is the BEST - just for those moments when we have those glimpses of the Father's heart.
your beautiful daughter looks like you.
isn't something How these little people God has given us can speak Truth to our hearts.
Your little girl looks just like you. She is so cute! And your words oh how they spoke to me.
I love moments like that...when the pure love of our children so beautifully illustrates the Lord's love for us. What a beautiful thought to start my day!
Blessings to you!
Tracy

That was such a sweet interchange with your daughter. I just love those moments, and how they remind us of the eternal.
