Gone in an Instant

Recently I received a horrifying reminder of how quickly things can change for the worse. A family friend, Sam, lost all but his vehicle and the clothing on his back due to a house fire. His propane tank exploded.

By God's grace, Sam was not inside his home when this happened, but he is still devastated.

Will you please pray for him during this time...not only that his physical needs be met, but that He can find comfort from God. Several years ago, Sam's mother was killed in a house fire right before Christmas and he wrestles with how God can allow such things to happen.

If you are interested in sending a card of comfort or donation to Sam, please E-mail me and I will send you an address.

Thank you. Angela

That is so horrible! It immediately reminded me of Job. His worst fear came upon him -- and surely your friend's worst fear would be a house fire after what happened to his Mom. God bless him. I'm thankful that he is safe.

I pray he remembers that God is sovereign and that although things look bleak, God has the best interests of his children at heart. (But that sounds so cliche...)
Blessings.

Prayers have definitely been offered up on behalf of Sam. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to experience a loss so suddenly. Praise God he was not involved himself!

It amazes me when such horrible news always seems to come in groups. This family needs prayer too! They were in the process of adopting a little girl named Josi from Guatemala, who we were praying would arrive here in the states before Christmas. They just found out two days ago that she and her entire foster family were murdered in Guatemala. Little more is known at this time, but the family is heartbroken!

Since I know more people read your blog than mine, I thought I'd post information here!

Please offer them words of comfort, but even moreso, offer up your prayers!

I'm sending him good wishes through the universe. I can't believe that he would face this type of tragedy twice in his life.

Prayed, and will continue to do so as Sam comes to mind. So sad. Thank you for bringing this prayer request to our attention.

I am so sorry for your friend. Yes I will pray for him and yes I would like to send him a card. I will pray about the donation too. My aunt lost her home and most of her belongings in a house fire as well quite a number of years ago. That in itself is devastating but the memory of losing his mother being brought back up in addition, has to be beyond words. God bless you for doing this.
