I began reading this "mommy blog," about a year ago and find Joy's style to be honest and engaging.
When asked why she blogs, Joy said that not only does she blog to keep a record of family happenings, but because she finds the process therapeutic.
One of my recent favorite posts from When Does Daddy Come Home? is one titled Babies. In this post, Joy reenacts a conversation with her youngest daughter (the current baby in the family and a daddy's girl) about the new baby who will be born this Fall. Here is a teaser:
Babies
"Abby, where is the baby?"Abby lifts her head and looks around in confusion, probably looking for a doll.
"Come here! The baby is in Mommy's tummy," I tell her.
Abby saunters over and lifts her shirt up to her chin, patting her own belly.
"No, honey," I say and take her hand to place on my belly. "Mommy's baby."
Abby laughs and shakes her head, putting her hand back on her own belly. "No, Dada's baby!"
